Select the text again, then press Ctrl+C to copy the text to your clipboard and then head back over to PowerPoint. In PowerPoint, paste the text wherever you want it by pressing Ctrl+V. Transform is a special stylizing option available in PowerPoint only for text. Follow these steps to explore more inPowerPoint 2013 for Windows:

  1. Select the text that you want to apply a transform effect to? Youcan also select the entire text box or place holder asshown in Figure 2, below.

  3. Alternatively, if you just want to follow this tutorial step-by-step, launch PowerPoint. You will see the Presentation Gallery. Here, select theBlank Presentation option to open a blank presentation with a new slide. You can thenchange the slide layout to Blank by selectingthe Home tab | Layout | Blank.Insert a text box and type some text in it. You can alsochange the text font to something blockier, such asArial Black (see Figure 2, above). Select the text, orselect the entire text box by clicking on the edge of theplaceholder, to bring up the Drawing Tools Format tab on theRibbon as shown highlighted in red withinFigure 2, above.
  4. Note: The Drawing Tools Format tab is a Contextual tab. These Contextual tabs are special tabs inthe Ribbon that are not visible all the time. They only make an appearancewhen you are working with a particular slide object which can be edited using special options within these tabs.
  5. Within the Drawing Tools Format tab, click the Text Effects button that you can see highlighted inred within Figure 3.

  7. This opens the Text Effects drop-down gallery, as shown in Figure 4. Within the Text Effectsdrop-down gallery select the Transform option, as shown highlighted in red within Figure 4.

  9. This opens the Transform sub-gallery as shown in Figure 5.

  11. Various effects within Transform sub-gallery are explained below, as marked in Figure 5, above:
  12. A. No Transform

  13. Removes any transform effect already applied to the selected text.
  14. B. Follow Path

  15. These Transform effects make your text to flow in a certain path like a circle, or an arc etc.
  16. C. Warp

  17. Here you will find Transform effects that twist and turn your text in various directions, and also make them wavy. Toexplore more Warp effects, use the scroll bar towards right (highlighted in blue within Figure 5, above).
  18. When you hover your cursor over any of the Transform effects within the Transform sub-gallery, you will see aLive Preview of the effect on your selected text. Click on any effect toapply it to the selected text. In Figure 6 you can see the selected text applied with Chevron Up effect.

  20. Do you notice the pink handle on the left of the text box in Figure 6, above (highlighted in red)?You can use that to create more transforms for text. Text Effects In Powerpoint 2016

Among the options for stylizing text in PowerPoint, we have already exploredText Fills andText Outlines. You have also learned how to apply variousWordArt styles in PowerPoint. But there's more you can do with text!Let us now learn how to apply and edit various text effects like Shadow, Reflection, Glow, 3-D Rotation, Transform, etc. to your text, as shown inthe samples you see in Figure 1, below.

  1. Select the text that you want to apply an effect to. You canalso select the entire text box or place holder as shown inFigure 2, below.

  7. This opens the Text Effects drop-down gallery, as shown in Figure 4.

  9. Options within Text Effects drop-down gallery are explained below, as marked in Figure 4, above:
  10. A. Shadow

  11. Applies shadow effects to the selected text. PowerPoint provides three types of shadows: Outer,Inner and Perspective, and you can apply any of these, or customize them to your requirement. To learn more aboutthis option, refer to our Apply Shadow Effects toShapes tutorial. Although, the linked tutorial pertains to shapes, the concepts are similar enough.
  12. B. Reflection

  13. This option applies a reflection to the selected text, and you can choose from several reflection styles. Make sure not to useboth shadow and reflection for the same text. To explore this option, further refer to ourApply Reflection Effects to Shapes tutorial,like mentioned earlier in point A, this option works similarly for both shapes and text.
  14. C. Glow

  15. Glow adds a hazed, blurred color perimeter outside the text. PowerPoint provides several glow variations; the glow colors are basedon the Theme colors, although you can also choose any other color you like. Explore more in thistutorial, Apply Glow Effect to Shapes.
  16. D. Bevel

  17. Applies bevel effects to the text. You can also customize your own bevel. OurApply Bevel Effects to Shapes tutorial providesmore info on this option.
  18. E. 3-D Rotation

  19. With this effect type, you can apply parallel, perspective, and oblique 3-D effects to the selected text. For More information, read ourApply 3-D Rotation Effects to Shapes tutorial.
  20. F. Transform

  21. Apply any of the preset Transform effects to make your text 'arty'. To learn more about this option refer to ourText Transforms in PowerPoint 2013 tutorial.
  22. Choose any text effect from within the Text Effects drop-down gallery and apply to your text as required. InFigure 5 you can see the selected text applied with 3-D Rotation and Shadow effects.
